MISSION
Our mission is to create films that bring the audience to a place of awe, beauty, and holiness.
OUR STORY
In fall 2018, we, Timothy, Danica, and Thomaida (a professor/author, film producer, and ministry leader), began discussing the possibility of expressing the beauty of our Orthodox Christian experience through the medium of film. We especially thought to convey the theophany of pilgrimage, which was central to our respective spiritual formations. We considered our first project as a film to help us learn how to make films. We self-financed a scouting trip to visit Jerusalem, met with contacts, and laid the groundwork for production.

Meanwhile Timothy shared that a holy elder, Amphilochios Makris, had just been canonized and that the first commemoration of his repose would be April 16, 2019. Here was the pitch: gather a crew, travel to Patmos, interview and film those who knew St Amphilochios and other pilgrims gathered for his feast. Then travel to Jerusalem to film Holy Week and Pascha and accompanying interviews with people who serve the Church there. If everything went as planned, we'd have filmed two movies during one production trip.
By God's grace and through the prayers of St Amphilochios, a collaboration, a film company, and a nonprofit were born. Filmmakers stepped forward to share wisdom. An talented crew formed. A budget came into focus. Visionary philanthropists stepped forward to fund the production trip. Equipment was rented, tickets purchased, insurance secured. And we were off!
CREATIVE TEAM
DR. TIMOTHY PATITSAS
Timothy was raised in Kent, Ohio. Inspired by an early viewing of Star Wars, he chose to attend the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service principally so that he could compete for the School's internship at NASA's Office of International Affairs. This dream came true and so began a life of adventure. Timothy served as Interim Dean of Hellenic College, for four years, also teaching Ethics at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Seminary, in Brookline, Massachusetts. When not in class, like his fictional colleague Dr. Indiana Jones, Timothy journeyed to far-flung corners of the world to find treasure—holy people in holy places. Timothy is currently on sabbatical through summer 2025, working on his second book. His first book, The Ethics of Beauty, is available from St. Nicholas Press.
