Thank you to Gabriel Cremeens for translating and setting this hymn.

Saint Amphilochios was a spiritual son of St Nektarios of Aegina and a spiritual father of St Gavrilia. His life on Patmos overlapped with that of Metropolitan Kallistos Ware, who was tonsured a monk there in the 1950s.
St Amphilochios started his monastic life at the monastery of St John the Theologian at the top of the island. Later he founded Evangelismos (Annunciation) Monastery depicted in the foreground.

While exiled to Patmos, Christ's beloved apostle, John the Theologian, received the divine revelation of the apocalypse. Visitors today pray in the Cave of the Apocalypse.
